Gilbert started out as a drummer and later on moved to keyboards, In fact, his still says that he plays keyboards “percussively”! His college (Swindon Art School) bands were named: The Prefects, The Doodles and Rick’s Blues. Rick Davies became the keyboard player for Supertramp.
