What inspires top choreographers Mia Michaels and Lil C?

Jun. 4 2009 5:11 PM ET Lindsay Zier-Vogel, CTV.ca “If everyone could pull the blanket away from their eyes, they’d see that there’s magic in everything,” famed contemporary choreographer and SYTYCDC judge Mia Michaels says from behind the judges’ table in Montreal. “It’s about being aware at every moment and keeping your eyes open,” she says. “There’s inspiration in everything we see.” Fellow SYTYCDC judge and krumping expert, Lil’ C says the only thing that defines inspiration is that it’s constantly changing: “When you evolve and progress as a human being, your views shift.” Right now though, Lil’ C defines inspiration as “anything that negatively or positively motivates me or emotionally compels me to induce change and dive a little bit deeper into my art.” Determination is also a motivating force for him. “I love seeing dancers who still attempt to scale the mountain even when failure is imminent. Making a choice to go for it in spite of obstacles, that’s inspiring!” I
