What inspired you to draw folk in “Legatomizer” up to playing violin parts on guitar?
I guess you talk about the intro melody. And that’s why we called the tune “Legatomizer”. That’s a tapping idea. I’m working a lot with tapping cause you can create very smoothy sounds and I also used it in vocal stuff for backing the singer and adding some push and drive to a song. – In the beginning, you referred to “Empire” as your solo album. At what point it turned out as bigger project? There were so many people involved and we wanted to make a vocal album so we thought it’s better to name it different than “Rolf Munkes”. It’s a band project and it had to be a band name. If you’re taking your name for the album it’s sounds like a typical “guitarist’s album” and that was not what I wanted with that album. – Could you briefly characterize “Hypnotica”? It’s a fresh and powerfull album with ten straightforward rock songs. Catchy hooks, melodies and variety, performed by some worldclass musicians. – How did you do the “casting” for EMPIRE?
