What ingredients are acceptable as an NHP?
Appendix A (below) sets out a list of ingredients identified as NHPs, for which NHPD monographs will be developed. This list is not exhaustive, and will be expanded in time. Please note that a product with a single or a combination of NHP ingredients will be governed by the Natural Health Products Regulations. Products with both an NHP and a drug ingredient will be considered as a drug, and will continue to be governed by the Food and Drugs Regulations. When will new monographs of these NHP ingredients be ready? The NHPD will continue to develop these monographs as quickly as possible, which will be available at NHPD website. Recognizing that one may wish to take advantage of the 60-days disposition for product licence applications that reference existing TPD Labelling Standards and Category IV Monographs, an interim approach for the review of these applications has been established. This approach applies only to product licence applications for products containing NHP ingredients curr
