What information must be included in the notice of a meeting?
The written notice of the meeting must state the purpose, time, location and who will be attending and: – Inform you that you may invite to the meeting other individuals who have knowledge or special expertise regarding your child, including related services personnel. The determination of whether the individual has such knowledge or special expertise is determined by the party (you or the school district) who invited the individual; – Beginning at age 14, or younger, if appropriate, the notice for a student with a disability must also indicate that the purpose of the meeting will be the development of a statement of the transition service needs, and that the school will invite the student to attend the meeting; and -Beginning at age 16, or younger, if appropriate, the notice for a student with a disability must also indicate that the purpose of a meeting is the consideration of needed transition services and that the school will invite the student to attend the meeting.
