What information is collected through PRAMS?
The survey consists of a core set of questions that is used in all states participating in PRAMS. Core questions gather information on the following topics: • Barriers to prenatal care • Domestic violence • Pregnancy-related stress • Labor and delivery experience • Breastfeeding practices • Early care of infant • Health insurance coverage • Attitudes and feelings about the pregnancy • Experience with the prenatal care system • Folic acid and other nutrition issues • Support from friends and family during pregnancy • Alcohol and tobacco exposure and use • Infant development • HIV prevention Rhode Island has developed state-specific questions for the survey.
