What information does the synthesis report contain?

The report contains information that dates between the early 1930s and 2006 and that comes from various sources —some specific to Port Hope and others from scientific research conducted in other countries. The synthesis report contains scientific information on the toxicological and radiological properties and known health effects of radiation, uranium and other chemicals found in Port Hope. Over 30 environmental studies and 13 epidemiological studies that were conducted in Port Hope are included, along with several major reviews of more than 40 epidemiological studies on the health effects in the following populations: people living near uranium mills and processing facilities; people exposed to naturally high levels of fabrication facilities; and veterans who had been exposed to depleted uranium.
