What information can an employer legally MAKE an employee put in their bio on a company website?
My office is currently in the process of building a company website and we have need for a “meet the staff page” where we would have indiviual photos with bios on each of us. There are seven employees including the boss and 6 out of the 7 of us DO NOT want ANY of our personal information (such as our last name, what town we live in, how long we’ve been married or how many children we have) in our bios, however the boss wants more of a “personal touch” then what was in the bios we submitted to him. Now we’re wondering if there’s any legal precedent for him to force us to do such because we agreed to the website in the first place.
