What influences do demons have on the world today?
• Whatever degree of influence the Prince of demons may have over the world, the Christian may content himself that God and His angels protect us in greater fashion: • Eph.6:13-16. In verse 14, Paul says God gives us an armored spiritual “breastplate” to guard our vital organ, the heart, to “resist in the evil day”. He describes Satan’s spiritual influences as “fiery darts” or “flaming missiles” in vs 16. They are not arrows or swords which mortally wound us, but darts to ping away and hinder or discourage our growth. In practical terms, the Christian is now given spiritual courage in the form of a “shield of faith” to fend off spiritual “darts” of temptation. The war is a spiritual one, therefore it must be waged with spiritual weapons. • Demons catching us unaware with these darts indicates they do not sleep.
