What Incoterms Are Firms Negotiating for Exports to NAFTA?
No international markets are more crucial to U.S. exporters than NAFTA partners Canada and Mexico. Canada absorbed $150 billion in U.S. exports in 2002 and Mexico took in $90 billion (close to double the $47.5 billion in U.S. exports to the rest of Latin America combined), making them the first-and second-largest destinations for U.S. exports in the world. Obviously, choosing the right Incoterms to gain maximum competitive advantage in sales to these two markets is a crucial issue for large numbers of U.S. export pros.
