What in the world is E-Government?
E-Government is the electronic delivery of government services and information to citizens, businesses, and other government agencies. The President’s Management Agenda for Fiscal Year 2002 (requires Acrobat Adobe to read) makes clear the Bush Administration’s goal is “to champion citizen-centered electronic government that will result in a major improvement in the federal government’s value to the citizen.” State and local governments throughout the nation are also heavily involved in the development of E-Government initiatives that are dramatically changing the way government agencies interact with citizens, businesses, and other levels of government. The course INSS685A Issues in E-Government introduces the basic concepts and building blocks of E-Government and provides students with an opportunity to apply their knowledge in a client-based project.
