What in the *heck* does VEP stand for, anyway?
This is probably the most frequently asked of the Frequently Asked Questions. Long time VEP resident, past VEP President, and current co-editor of the VEP News, Bob Aquino, claims that VEP stands for “Very Excellent People”, an answer that most VEP folks like. In fact, VEP has gone the way of NCR and 3M. NCR doesn’t stand for National Cash Register anymore, nor does 3M stand for Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing, as VEP does not anymore stand for the first three sub-divisions that came together in 1969 to form the organization: Vista Park, Encore, and Parkview Valley. Part of the reason for this is that VEP has expanded over the years to include other area subdivisions such as Blossom Hights, Echo Valley and Willow Glen III. So, VEP stands for VEP.
