On the IBM Developer Kit for OS/390, Java 2 Technology Edition and the IBM SDK for z/OS, Java 2 Technology Edition, the java and javac commands implicitly set the CLASSPATH for the JRIO classes. More specifically, they add the JRIO class files found in recordio.jar to the CLASSPATH.
