What implications is / will the credit crunch have or is currently having on Barclays Bank?
The credit crunch has no implications on Barclays Bank but it imposes a challenge to it. To prove to the government, its shareholders and customers that it is not directly involved with the US sub prime mortgages losses and need not do write downs. All its stakeholders must give it their full support so that it can do its business normally and continue to make more profits for them. Right now it is expanding organically both locally and overseas. Also by acquisitions of banks and related business to improve their business and introduce the best of British banking to the world. Its leaders are prudent and conservative and have excellent managements capabilities to bring the bank to greater heights and be the model of the best in British banking.. Most of its Asian and Middle East shareholders have full confidence in it. So the British government and the British customers must give it their full confidence and support so that it can continue to be the best British multinational bank..
