What impact will Googles foray into the Operating System space in 2010 have on the computing industry?

It’s a Linux distribution with a Chrome-based UI, aimed at people who spend most of their time using netbooks on the web. Then developers can write Python or Java apps that live in Google’s cloud, along with Google Docs, and users can get to them from a Google Chrome OS web browser.
