What impact will carbon reduction schemes have on farming?
First of all, the carbon reduction schemes will cause an increase in all energy costs. This will make it more expensive to run the machines the farmer needs to do the work. Second, if these schemes work as designed and reduce the amount of CO2 in the air (which is questionable), then the crops won’t be as healthy nor will they be as productive. Both of these factor mean higher food prices for all of us.
