What impact on wetlands and the water table will there be?
The impact on wetlands is considered when we determine the location for a transmission line. Generally, wetlands are avoided where possible, unless another constraint forces the line into a wetland area. Smaller wetlands can be avoided through tower placement (the wires can go over the wetland). Towers are typically located a minimum of 30 metres away from the high water mark at the edge of wetlands. The foundations on a transmission line typically do not go deep enough to affect the water table.
