What impact does the Arava Institute have on peace-building in the Middle East?
The entire mission of the Arava institute aims to encourage trans-boundary environmental cooperation. Today, throughout Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority, the Arava network of Jewish and Arab students, researchers and alumni is growing. They are able to easily connect and communicate with each other, seeking ways together to protect their environment. While recognizing their differences, their individual histories are respected. Under these principles, the fundamentals of peaceful co-existence are realized in their daily lives and go beyond the cycles of conflict that so often sabotage peace-building. The Arava Institute provides a tangible example of peace-building that works.
