What impact do dental appointment no-shows have on the oral health of children?
Research team: Children with caries who don’t show up in the dental health care clinics have an increased risk of developing major caries which constitutes risk of pain and infections. This is something that affects the oral health. Children that learn to avoid dental care often need acute dental care and the risk for dramatic dental care increases. This leads to a risk of developing dental fear and avoiding dental health care in the future. Were the parents aware of the importance of regular dental check-ups?
