The wire is easy to re-attach without tools. Just unscrew the black plastic sleeve and slide it back up the wire. If you cannot see the silver-colored wire, cut back the black rubber insulation to expose about 3/4″ of wire. Then twist the end of the wire together a bit and insert it through the hole in the middle of the metal part and out the side. Push the wire all the way in, and wrap the wire clockwise around the groove on the metal part. Then slide the plastic sleeve back over and screw it onto the metal plug as snugly as possible.
