The Isle Royale Queen rarely cancels a trip in the summer due to weather, though we have delayed a few, especially in late summer or in late September. However, all trips are subject to safe sailing conditions and trips may be delayed until weather permits a safe crossing. • How long does the trip take? It takes about 3 hours one way. We leave Copper Harbor at 8:00 a.m. EDT (Eastern Daylight Time), and depart Rock Harbor on Isle Royale at 2:45 p.m. (see schedule). • Do you serve food during the trip? Usually. We depend on local bakers to supply bakery and sandwiches. A snack bar with coffee, soda, and candy, etc. is always available. • Is it cold on the Island? It’s about the same as Copper Harbor.
