A. Owners will know the inspection date and time 60 days in advance. This provides owners with plenty of time to notify tenants of the inspection. Under Wisconsin law property owners can inspect occupied rental units as long as the tenant receives 12 hours advanced notice. The RRI ordinance requires property owners to post an inspection notice on each unit door at least 2 days before the inspections is to occur.
