If the software does not support electronic fling, a mandated preparer must select another software package that allows electronic filing. The department recognizes that there will be exceptions to filing specific returns due to software or other limitations. These will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. However, the paper filing fee will apply if the return was otherwise eligible for electronic filing.
