What if the physician needs a CAP drug for an emergency?
If the CAP vendor cannot deliver the prescribed drug in a timely fashion (i.e., in an emergency), the physician may administer the drug using his/her own stock and have the stock replenished from the CAP vendor. To qualify for this provision, the physician must not have been able to anticipate the need for the drug and the drug must be needed immediately.
