What if the PC controlling it breaks, won t it stop recording?

The PC is only an interface. It does not control the vital functions of the recorder. As a result if the PC disappears then nothing will have been altered within the recorder and so it will continue with its normal operation. When the PC is reconnected to the network the PC will automatically be able to communicate with the MIRRA.
