Appendix 1 of the terms and conditions specifically state that the scrapped vehicle must not be an insurance write-off. If the car is a category C insurance write-off but has been repaired and has passed a VIC test, it does qualify for the scrappage scheme. After the VIC test, you will have applied for a replacement V5C registration document which should indicate it has been VIC tested and list the date of the test. The car must be still be taxed, insured and MOT’d and meet all other scrappage criteria.
