What if the NRL grand final ends in a draw?

It is golden point that is used these days. We saw in the Roosters-Tigers game a few weeks ago that finals matches go into golden point, and can in some cases go deep into golden point. The Roosters-Tigers match reached the 100th minute! A rematch doesn’t work. Unlike the AFL, there is a series of test matches after the NRL is over (the Quadnations), and a rematch will eat into Australia’s time (and to a lesser extent NZ’s time) to prepare for that tournament as a team. Don’t draw it out a week longer than it needs to be … Grand Final day is 3 October and the premiership should be decided on 3 October!! Golden Point might “suck”, but it wouldn’t suck as much as going through an extra week of GF hype and then losing. I would prefer finals games drawn after 80 minutes played with an extra two 10-minute halves (which get played out no matter what) and go to Golden Point if deadlocked after 100 minutes. I didn’t see the AFL Grand Final, but it must have felt like an anticlimax at the end
