What if the non-custodial parent is not in Colorado?
When the non-custodial parent is located outside of Colorado but the child was conceived in Colorado, child support can be established in Colorado through a court hearing. If the child was not conceived in Colorado, the local child support office will file papers to the non-custodial parent’s state and they will establish a child support order.
