What if the fundraising falls short?
The control plan anticipates having at least $100,000 on hand to launch a lake-wide program of benthic matting and hand-harvesting. If fundraising falls short, there are adjustments that can be made to the plan, such as focusing on the four priority areas for treatment—the Boat Launch, Sand Bar, South Inlet to the Upper Lake and the inlet to the Lower Lake. If funds fall significantly short, it may be better to hold off for another season until there is enough to initiate a sustainable effort.
