It usually is not a problem if the repair shop finds more damage after they start the work. The repair shop needs to document all damage and the repairs that they make. They also need to yell the insurance company about the extra repairs. As long as they find the wound before you sign a property damage release the insurance company will usually pay for the extra repairs.
