If someone did win all four majors, he would very likely be at the top of the seedings going into the PGA Tour Playoffs for the FedExCup. Of course, if any football, basketball, baseball or hockey team won all its regular-season games, it would also get the highest seed in the playoffs. In none of those cases is the highest seed guaranteed to win the Super Bowl, the NBA [Finals], the World Series or the Stanley Cup — it has an advantage going into the playoffs, but it still must play well to win. The same is true for the FedExCup — the top seed has an advantage going in, but still must play well to win. That’s what playoffs are about.
