What if someone didnt want to use a condom or dental dams for oral sex?
The reason we stress condom and dental dam use here is that sexually transmitted infections can easily be passed through oral sex. Some of the most common STIs, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and herpes, are all spread through oral sex. Remember that not all STIs have visible symptoms so someone may have an STI and not even know it. The only way that anyone can know if they have an STI is to get tested every six months or with every new partner. If your partner doesnt have this information then this may be a good time to let them know why condom use is important for you because it keeps you & your partner/s safer. Glow in the dark, flavored, and colored condoms can be fun and make sex even more enjoyable because everyone can relax more knowing they are having safer sex. Ultimately though, if someone wont use a condom, it is always o.k. to say no to sex.
