What if Owen Hart had never died?
This is probably what you thought I was going to talk about when you read the title of this column, right? Well, here it is. Quite simply, this horrible tragedy could have been avoided. If anyone saw Owen Hart’s Biography on A&E earlier this year, that explained pretty much everything. Owen was stuck back in the Blue Blazer gimmick, simply because he refused to take part in an angle with Jeff Jarrett, where Owen would be lusting after Debra, which would break up the Jarrett/Owen tag team. Owen didn’t want this to take place, because his children watched him wrestle, and he didn’t want his children to see him cheating on their mother every week on TV. An honorable decision, but Owen’s constant refusal of Vince’s angles is what prompted him to stick Owen back with the jobber gimmick of the Blue Blazer. If that wasn’t embarrassing enough, Owen also had to imitate WCW wrestlers constantly, never being able to inject any originality into his gimmick. Ultimately, the imitation of Sting’s des
