If your TOEFL/IELTS score does not meet Barnard’s minimum requirement (100 TOEFL; 7 IELTS) you will be asked to have a phone interview; assuming we approve your coming, we will require you to take a placement test through Columbia’s American Language Program upon arriving on campus. Depending on the score you receive, you may be required to take an English language course through ALP, in addition to the academic courses you would be taking in the Spring.
