what if my shipment does not arrive on time, who files the claim, us or route 66 marine?
First of all do not panic. We pack with great care to help reduce the risk if this unpredictable event occurs. To help assure you of the arrival of alive and healthy corals, it usually takes 38-48 hours for our corals to arrive to us from Australia. We have an extremely low and acceptable DOA loss when we get our shipments from Australia. We have had shipments arrive to our customers 24 -30 hours after it was supposed to have arrived with no DOA’s. This is our freight FOB policy. This is separate from our DOA policy. If there is a service failure on the part of the carrier (freight is lost, freight is delivered late outside the terms of AWB, freight is physically damaged, freight was not stored or handled correctly given its live animals status) then the claim is filed by the consignee / buyer with the carrier. Route 66 Marine will assist in this process in any and all ways possible. If the shipment is abandoned or rejected (not picked up) the consignee could forfeit the possibility to
