If your Lotus Sametime environment is using Microsoft Active Directory instead of a Domino Names and Address Book (e.g. names.nsf) for authentication and name lookup, you will need to adjust the default configuration of Permessa IM License Auditor as shown below. The reason for this is that the IM log files list users using the format of the authentication system. Add the name of the Domain Controller for each segment of your Active Directory and a temporary file folder location where this information will be stored locally. In this mode, the retrieval of user information is handled by different buttons in the Auto Discovery view. Press “Export Directory to CSV” periodically (weekly, for example) to refresh this information in the local file system – in large environments this could take several minutes.
