In order to have a seamless transition from Washington community colleges to Washington four-year institutions, an agreement known as the Business Direct Transfer Associates agreement was made. This agreement is found at http://www.sbctc.ctc.edu/docs/education/transfer/business-dta_mrp_agreement_final.pdf. This agreement acknowledges the importance of a high standard of numeric literacy in today’s business world. The CWU College of Business expects those courses agreed to, including finite, business calculus, and statistics. If your community college does not offer these specific courses or you did not take them, the transfer is not so seamless. In general, however, if students do not have the agreed upon math courses, we will typically accept three “substantial” math subjects that approximate the level and complexity of these courses.
