What if my child (or another person on my Safe at Home application) is the subject of a pending or ongoing criminal matter when we enroll?
If your child or another person on your Safe at Home application is the subject of a pending or ongoing criminal matter (including juvenile court) when you enroll in Safe at Home, your household is required to inform each prosecuting jurisdiction of your household’s newly assigned Safe at Home address so they know how to contact you. You must also inform each prosecuting jurisdiction that you have designated the secretary of state as your agent for purposes of service of process. To assist you with this, you will be given a form letter to complete during your application process, and on your Safe at Home application you will give consent to Safe at Home to assist you in notifying the prosecuting jurisdiction(s) of this information.
