What if my child finishes the homework early and has lots of extra time?

Homework is determined by our state adopted curriculum and is generally assigned as the curriculum directs. Some nights there will be multiple assignments. Other nights there may be none. Even when a worksheet doesn’t come home to be completed, there are activities your child should be doing regularly that don’t come home as written homework assignments. Your child can spend time studying spelling and vocabulary words, playing math games, working on multiplication tables, reviewing what we have studied in class (science, social studies, math, etc.) so they are prepared for any tests and aren’t forced to cram the night before. This is a great opportunity to look deeper into a topic we are studying in class using one of the web sites linked to this site… Come talk to me if you need more ideas.
