What if my case is resolved at pre-trial, but I dont have the money to pay my fines and court costs on that day?
Typically, if your case is resolved, but you need additional time to come up with the money for fines and costs, you can ask that your case be scheduled for a change of plea hearing. At a pretrial or change of plea hearing, you and your lawyer will be called up in front of the Judge, you will formally change your plea to either Guilty or No Contest, and the Judge will formally read the sentence into the record. You will be expected to pay for fines and costs in full on that day.
