What if my builder, contractor or landscaper tells me I have to water my newly laid sod or seed everyday for two or three weeks. Doesn’t that exclude me from a citation?

Newly laid sod or seed may be watered for eight hours on the first day. Since new sod requires immediate watering, there is no restriction on when the eight hours may start and stop. For the next nine days, watering is allowed every day during the permitted hours of 6 – 10 a.m. or 6 – 10 p.m. After the initial ten-day period, new sod is subject to the same restrictions as all other lawns. This exemption only applies to new lawns. Adding seed to existing grass does not qualify.
