What if my agency does not have a business continuity plan? How does that affect development of the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP)?

Every agency should be developing their Continuity Of Operations and Continuity of Government (COOP/COG) program to include a full business continuity plan. This is a recent requirement outlined by the Office of Emergency Services. However, if an agency does not have a COOP/COG, then three additional components must be included in the DRP as directed in Section 2 (Supplemental DRP Requirements) of the Disaster Recovery Plan Documentation Instructions (SIMM 65A).
