Both chlamydia and gonorrhea are usually treated with a single dose of medicine. Often this medicine is given to you at the doctor’s office right away, when you go for treatment. It’s important not to have sex until you and your sex partner(s) have been completely treated. Once your infection has been treated, you will need to be re-tested in 3 months.
