What if I move abroad after graduating from medical school, start training abroad and decide to return to the UK? Will I have to complete the Foundation Programme or will my overseas training count?
Specialist and general practice training programmes will only be open to those who have acquired and satisfactorily demonstrated foundation competences. Prospective approval must be sought from PMETB in order for overseas training to be recognised. You are advised to speak to your foundation school director in the first instance.
