Firstly, remember that you shouldn’t choose a degree by its UAI. If you are really determined to do one of these it is possible to request a transfer after a year studying something else. The best degree to transfer from is Computer Science at UNSW, as it has the most electives and so you can choose them to mimic the other degrees. For example, to gain entry into Comp Eng you should select Physics and Electrical Engineering as electives. Transfers from other degrees and Universities will be considered on their merits, but you will not normally be granted full exemption for year 1 because of differences in courses studied. To transfer to Soft Eng a minimum average of around a Distinction (75%) has been required in the past, and applications are very competitive.
