What if I lose or forget the Comcast Linksys router username/password?

0

This FAQ entry applies to users of Comcast’s Home Networking package and supplied Linksys router. Press and hold the reset button on the gateway for a few seconds. This will clear your settings on the gateway and restore the default user name (comcast) and password (1234). Note: Pressing and holding the reset button will erase all of your settings and will affect the Internet connection of any computers connected to your Home Network. You will need to reboot all connected computers to re-establish Internet connectivity and reset any previously configured features on your Home Network. Note: Press the reset button only after you have exhausted all other troubleshooting options and/or contacted a Comcast Customer Care Representative. *This FAQ is based on user knowledge from a volunteer core of BroadbandReports’ members. This FAQ in no way constitutes official information from Comcast or any of its affiliates.
