Believe it or not you still may be able to make a claim for bodily injuries if these circumstances exist. The State of New Jersey has set up a fund called the Unsatisfied Claim and Judgment Fund for people injured in auto accidents that are unable to make a claim against an insurance company because: (1) They have no insurance; AND (2) Do not reside with an immediate family member that has insurance; AND (3) The person that caused the accident is either uninsured OR leaves the scene of the accident and doesnt get caught. If all these circumstances exist you may be able to make a claim against the Unsatisfied Claim and Judgment Fund for payment of medical bills and for compensation for bodily injuries. NOTE: Generally, you have TWO (2) YEARS from the date of your accident to file a claim or a lawsuit to recover for your bodily injuries. HOWEVER, BE CAREFUL!!! If you have to make a claim against the Unsatisfied Claim and Judgment Fund or any other governmental body you must do so within
