What if I have already applied for a NSW Hot Water System rebate and I am also eligible for the Australian Government rebate?

The Australian Government has recently increased its rebates for solar and heat pump hot water systems to a level where the sum of payments from Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), the NSW and Australian Government rebates may exceed the total cost of a new and installed hot water system. To ensure public money is properly allocated, we are asking you to declare that the total sum payments you are receiving (from Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), the NSW and Australian Government rebates) do not exceed the total cost of your installed hot water system. You may receive a letter explaining this and asking you to make this declaration (if applicable). We will issue the rebate you are entitled to when we receive your signed declaration. Please note that you can nominate a reduced payment in your declaration so that the total payments you are receiving do not exceed the total costs of your installed hot water system.
