The positions that NomCom is charged to fill are positions of substantial responsibility. Their work as Members of the ICANN Board, the GNSO Council and the Interim ALAC addresses matters of importance for the stability and security of a global resource. The Nominating Committee must therefore have the ability to undertake careful review of the Candidates. NomCom will need to check references and consult third-party sources on a confidential basis before making its final selections. For this reason, those wishing to be considered Candidates are required to confirm this under standing of the confidentiality arrangements when they submit a Statement of Interest. Please also see Question 5.1 (above) for further information on NomCom’s commitment to protect the privacy of the information it receives pertaining to individuals who have submitted Statements of Interest to NomCom. 6.
