What if I dont think counseling is helping?
During the counseling sessions, feel free to ask about the counseling process and make suggestions about what you think might be helpful to you. If you are not making progress toward your goals, discuss this with your counselor or group. You may resolve the problem together or decide on an alternative approach. Inform your counselor if you decide to stop coming to counseling. Discussing the ending of counseling can be very important and useful.
